Evaluation of Information Technology Governance Using Cobit 4.0 in High Schools
Keywords:

At this time, public and private schools are always trying to compete with other schools. So automatically, every school must continually improve the quality and quality of education, and schools must create new alternatives to attract new students. One of these alternatives is to make good governance in senior high schools. Likewise, mastery of Information Technology (IT) is a way to increase knowledge in the teaching and learning process, and it is hoped that schools will focus on how to maximize the supporting factors to achieve optimal grades. This study used the COBIT (Control Objectives for Information and Related Technology) version 4.0 method. COBIT is a methodology that provides a basic framework for creating an information technology that suits organizational needs while considering other influential factors. This research is focused on the two main domains of COBIT, namely DS (Delivery and Support) and ME (Monitoring and Evaluation). From these two data, the expected process maturity level (expected or target maturity level) is determined that is suitable for senior high schools and then assesses the current maturity level through a questionnaire to respondents related to Information Technology (IT). Expected data and current maturity level are then analyzed to see the existing gaps and steps to overcome these gaps. The maturity level of Information Technology (IT) governance in Senior High Schools is the DS and ME domains at level 1 (initial/Ad-hoc), so the improvement of Information Technology (IT) governance in High Schools for the DS and ME domains is to increase the level of maturity at level 2 (Repeatable But Invinitive) based on the mission, vision, goals and direction of senior high school development.
